- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a muffin tin.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the creamy Greek yogurt, applesauce, eggs, milk or buttermilk, vanilla extract, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt into the wet mixture and whisk gently.
- Fold in the whole wheat flour and chopped apples until just incorporated.
- Fill the muffin tin evenly with the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Allow muffins to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
