Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, and finely chopped nuts.
- Stir in the softened butter until crumbly and then press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch dish.
- Bake for 15 minutes and then allow it to cool completely.
Lime layer
- In another bowl, dissolve the lime gelatin in boiling water. Let it cool slightly, then mix in the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Pour the mixture over the cooled crust and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until set.
Strawberry layer
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Fold in the sliced strawberries once cooled.
- Pour the strawberry mixture over the lime layer and refrigerate until set (1-2 hours).
- Top with an additional layer of whipped topping and garnish with sprinkles or candy before serving chilled.
Notes
Utilize fresh strawberries for the best flavor and color. Feel free to swap them for blueberries or raspberries. Serve in individual cups for an elegant presentation.
