Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk Make sure it is lukewarm for yeast activation.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened Rich and creamy for a tender crumb.
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness.
  • 1 large egg Binds the ingredients.
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread Indulgently creamy.
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Choose your favorite for added crunch.

Method

Preparation of Dough
  1. In a small bowl, warm the milk until just lukewarm. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it’s foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add in the softened butter, the egg, and the yeast mixture.
  3. Knead the mixture until smooth and elastic. Cover with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Rolling and Rising
  1. Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  2. Spread the chocolate hazelnut spread evenly across the dough’s surface and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
  3. Carefully roll the dough tightly into a log and place it into a greased loaf pan, tucking in the ends.
  4. Let it rise again for about 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  2. Let it cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For best results, allow for a slow rise to deepen flavors. Ensure yeast is activated properly. Let the bread cool fully before slicing.
