Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, frozen mixed vegetables, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and a sprinkle of salt & pepper. Stir until well combined.
Assembly
- Pour the chicken mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken mixture.
- Open the package of crescent roll dough and unroll it. Pinch the seams together to form a flat sheet.
- Lay the crescent roll dough evenly over the cheese layer.
- Brush the melted butter over the top of the crescent roll dough.
Cooking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Reserve a portion of cheese to sprinkle on top before serving. Make sure not to overbake the crescent roll dough; a golden, flaky top is desired. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the filling to set slightly.
