  • 1 package (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough The perfect golden topping that brings a flaky texture.
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted For brushing on top, adding a glossy, enticing finish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, frozen mixed vegetables, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and a sprinkle of salt & pepper. Stir until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Pour the chicken mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  2. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken mixture.
  3. Open the package of crescent roll dough and unroll it. Pinch the seams together to form a flat sheet.
  4. Lay the crescent roll dough evenly over the cheese layer.
  5. Brush the melted butter over the top of the crescent roll dough.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Reserve a portion of cheese to sprinkle on top before serving. Make sure not to overbake the crescent roll dough; a golden, flaky top is desired. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the filling to set slightly.
