  • 3/4 cup Ketchup Classic Sloppy Joe base.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt Balances the flavors.
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese Melts beautifully.
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese Adds sharpness.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Italian loaf lengthwise into two halves and place cut side up on a baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine butter and garlic salt, then spread generously on the inner sides of the bread.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onions over medium heat until browned, draining excess grease.
  2. Stir in garlic powder, yellow mustard, ketchup, and kosher salt. Simmer until thickened.
  3. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture between the two halves of bread.
  4. Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, then place the baking sheet in the oven.
  5. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Cut into pieces, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using lean ground turkey or whole grain bread. To avoid soggy bread, let the filling cool slightly before assembling.
