  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter, melted For brushing over the top layer.
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon Enhances the flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar, for topping Adds sweetness to the top.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by lightly greasing it.
  2. Unroll one can of the crescent roll dough and gently press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, forming a base for your casserole.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with 1 cup of granulated sugar and the vanilla extract. Beat the mixture until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent dough layer in the baking dish.
  5. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the cream cheese filling, pinching seams together to seal.
  6. Brush the melted butter generously over the top layer of dough.
  7. Mix the ground cinnamon with the additional 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and sprinkle this mixture evenly over the casserole.
  8. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Allow to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing into squares.
  10. Optionally, drizzle honey over the warm squares before serving.

Notes

For the best results, ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing. You can customize the casserole with toppings like berries, nuts, or chocolate chips. Serve warm for the best texture.
