Crust

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the ketchup and mustard, and season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the beef and onion mixture evenly into a greased 9-inch pie plate.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
  6. In a medium bowl, whisk together the biscuit mix, milk, and eggs until smooth.
  7. Pour the biscuit mixture over the cheese and beef in the pie plate.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can add diced bell peppers or jalapeños for extra flavor. Store leftovers covered in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze individual slices for up to 2 months.
