Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter and cheddar cheese until thoroughly blended.
  3. Add the flour, chopped pecans, cayenne pepper, and salt. Stir until combined.
  4. If the dough is too crumbly, add cold water one tablespoon at a time until you can form a well-integrated ball.
  5. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters or a sharp knife, and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Let the crackers cool before serving.
