Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; drain well and set aside.
Cooking
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onions and bell peppers for 6-8 minutes or until they start to soften. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes.
- Stir in the cream cheese until melted. Add the milk, along with half of the provolone and mozzarella, mixing until smooth and creamy.
Assembly and Baking
- Combine the cooked pasta with the beef and cheese sauce. Mix until all the pasta is covered in the delicious cheese blend.
- Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for an extra 1-2 minutes for a crispy top.
Finishing Touch
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together beautifully.
Notes
Consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor. Mix in sautéed mushrooms or spinach for more veggies. Use whole-grain pasta or ground turkey for a healthier option. Adjust cooking time for different types of pasta or meat.
