For the Pastry
  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed (1 sheet) Creates a golden flaky exterior.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into rectangles of about 4x6 inches.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each rectangle and top with blueberries.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a pocket.
  6. Brush the tops with egg wash.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Let the cream cheese come to room temperature for easier mixing. Consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or vanilla extract to the filling for extra flavor. For easier handling, use light flour on your work surface if the puff pastry is sticky.
