Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease an 8 or 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Cooking
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown your lean ground beef until it’s nicely golden and flavorful. Drain off any excess fat.
- Toss the diced onion into the skillet along with the beef, sautéing for about 4-5 minutes until it’s translucent. Add in the minced garlic and cook for one more minute.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and season everything with salt and pepper. Transfer this beef mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Spread the cream of mushroom soup generously over the beef, followed by the drained green beans. Add shredded cheese as the next layer.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots evenly across the top.
- Pop your casserole in the preheated oven and let it bake for 35-40 minutes until those tater tots turn golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
Serving
- Let the casserole cool for just a few minutes before serving hot.
Notes
For healthier alternatives, consider using ground turkey, low-fat cheese, cauliflower tots, or adding fresh vegetables. Store leftovers in airtight containers or freeze individual portions.
