  • 1 cup vegan butter And plant-based frosting alternatives to make the recipe vegan-friendly

Method

Preparation of Cookie Cups
  1. Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the refrigerated sugar cookie dough.
  2. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  3. Use your fingers or the back of a spoon to gently press down the dough balls, shaping them into small cups.
  4. Bake until golden brown and slightly firm to the touch. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
Making the Buttercream Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter until creamy and fluffy.
  2. Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed to avoid a sugary cloud.
  3. Pour in the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract, whipping until light and fluffy.
Decorating the Cookies
  1. Frost each cookie cup with the buttercream.
  2. Flip the strawberries upside down and place them on top of the frosting to resemble the gnome's hat.
  3. Place two small candy balls on the frosting just below each strawberry to resemble the gnome's eyes.
  4. Repeat the process for each cookie.

Notes

Add sprinkles or edible glitter for a festive touch. Prepare the frosting ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for easier decorating.
