  • 4 pieces ripe pears, halved and cored Choose ripe but firm pears, such as Bartlett or Anjou.
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese Feel free to experiment with goat cheese or blue cheese for different flavors.
  • 1/3 cup honey Adds sweetness and helps with caramelization.
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries Their tartness complements the sweetness of the pears.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves Brings a fresh herbaceous flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Helps with roasting the pears.
  • to taste pinch black pepper Adds a subtle kick.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the ripe pears in half lengthwise and scoop out the core and seeds to create a small cavity.
  3. Arrange the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  4. Brush the cut sides of each pear half with olive oil and drizzle honey over them.
  5. Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper on top of the pears.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes until tender and slightly caramelized.
  2. Immediately sprinkle crumbled feta cheese and dried cranberries on each warm pear half.
  3. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves and drizzle with more honey if desired.

Notes

These baked pears make a stunning appetizer or side dish. Pair with a light salad or serve warm as a dessert with Greek yogurt or ice cream.
