Ingredients

For the baked pears
  • 3 pieces ripe pears (Bosc or Bartlett), halved and cored Choose pears that are just ripe for the best texture.
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey Can substitute with agave syrup for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup fresh mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, or cranberries) Can use other berries such as strawberries or blackberries.
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, lightly toasted Other nuts can be used for variation.
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese or gorgonzola Feta cheese can be a milder alternative.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for extra flavor.
  • Fresh thyme leaves (optional, for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
  2. Slice the pears in half lengthwise and remove the cores. Trim the bottoms slightly to ensure they sit flat.
  3. Brush each pear half with melted butter, placing them cut-side up in the prepared dish.
  4. Spoon a mixture of berries, toasted walnuts, and blue cheese into the hollowed centers of each pear.
  5. Drizzle honey over the filled pears and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes until the pears are tender and slightly golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh thyme if desired, spooning warm pan juices over the top before serving.
