  • 1 cup Baileys Irish Cream (plus more for drizzling, optional)
Chocolate Ganache Layer
  • 8 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
Whipped Cream and Layering Ingredients
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup crushed chocolate cookies or chocolate cake for layering
  • chocolate chips or chocolate shavings for extra texture
  • caramel drizzle for added flavor

Method

Prepare the Cheesecake Layer
  1. Beat the softened cream cheese in a bowl until creamy.
  2. Add the powdered sugar and Baileys Irish Cream, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Set this heavenly cream cheese mixture aside while you prepare the next layer.
Make the Chocolate Ganache Layer
  1. Melt the chopped dark or semi-sweet chocolate with 1/2 cup of heavy cream in a double boiler or microwave until smooth and glossy.
  2. Allow the ganache to cool slightly before using it in the trifle.
Assemble the Trifle
  1. In a large glass trifle dish or individual cups, start layering your dessert.
  2. Begin with a layer of crushed chocolate cookies or cake at the bottom, then add a layer of the creamy Baileys cheesecake.
  3. Drizzle on some luscious ganache.
  4. Repeat these layers until your dish is filled, finishing with whipped cream and a scattering of chocolate chips or shavings.
Garnish and Chill
  1. Top it off with extra chocolate shavings, a drizzle of Baileys, and maybe a bit of caramel.
  2. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Not recommended to freeze the trifle due to delicate textures.
