Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry angel food cake mix, apple pie filling, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gently stir the ingredients together until fluffy and well combined.
  4. If using, fold in the chopped nuts gently.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Baking
  1. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Finishing Touch
  1. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool slightly before serving.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce as desired.

Notes
