Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line two baking sheets with foil, lightly coating them with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the Chex cereal, assorted nuts, and pretzels, mixing until evenly distributed.
Toffee Preparation
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter while stirring constantly.
- Gradually add the dark brown sugar, light corn syrup, and salt, bringing to a rolling boil for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda.
- Carefully pour the toffee over the cereal blend and gently fold it in.
Baking
- Spread the coated mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 30 to 55 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Once finished, allow to cool completely on the sheets before breaking into clusters.
Notes
Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or a dash of nutmeg for an extra flavor boost. You can also add chocolate chips or M&Ms just after baking.
