  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (70% cacao) Rich and intense chocolate forms the base.
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk Adds sweetness and smoothness.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces Adds luscious texture.
Optional Add-ins
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt Enhances chocolate flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract Infuses warm aroma.
  • 1/4 teaspoon espresso powder Enhances chocolate flavor with coffee.
  • to taste toasted almond slivers Adds texture and nutty flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. Gather and measure all ingredients: dark chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and optional flavorings.
Cooking
  1. In a saucepan, simmer water and place a heat-proof bowl on top. Add chocolate and butter, stirring until melted and smooth.
  2. Reduce heat to low and whisk in the sweetened condensed milk until mixture thickens and becomes glossy.
  3. If using add-ins, mix them in now.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly and let it cool for 15 minutes.
  5. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours to set.
Serving
  1. Once firm, lift the fudge out using the parchment overhang and cut into squares.
  2. Serve at room temperature or chilled.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality chocolate and control the heat during melting. Experiment with different flavor variations!
