Description

A warm and cheesy biscuit loaf reminiscent of Red Lobster’s iconic dish, combining cheddar cheese and garlic for a delicious treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until it forms coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  5. Add the buttermilk and mix just until combined.
  6. Spoon the dough into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder while warm.
  9. If desired, sprinkle chopped parsley over the top.
  10. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a lower-calorie loaf, substitute half the flour with whole wheat flour and use low-fat cheese.
