Succulent salmon fillets enveloped in a rich, aromatic garlic butter slather, perfect for quick weeknight dinners or special occasions.

- 4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice, parsley, thyme, and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure a delightful sear.
- Generously season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil and remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets, and sear for 4-5 minutes.
- Flip the salmon fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes, spooning the garlic butter over the top towards the end.
- Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
This dish can also be baked or grilled for a different flavor profile.
