- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar for rolling
- Food coloring (pink, blue, yellow, green)
- 24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
- Optional colored sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and 1 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract, followed by the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the dough into four equal portions and add food coloring to each, kneading until colors are bright and uniform.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll each in granulated sugar.
- Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving ample space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into each cookie.
- Return to the oven for an additional 2 minutes, then let cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack, adding sprinkles while still warm if desired.
